Chronicles of Narnia

Well I finally got around to seeing The Chronicles of Narnia...AND DAMN. so good. Nuch better then I expected and I was expecting it to be pretty damn good. I've read the books and like most people The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe was my favourite and the movie did it incredible justice. Andrew Adamson did such an amazing job creating CS lewis' world and you feel yourself becoming entirely engrossed in the movie.

I am a big Lord of The Rings Fan, those were some awesome movies, but I think I'd take Narnia over all of them. Narnia just has such a human element to it, and the story isn't based on luck or chance. The kids have to save themselves and use their own abilities and skills, Yes they have Aslan but most of the trials must be dealt with by the children themselves.

Ah yes the kids. Some of the best young actors ever. Georgie Henley who plays Lucy is so expressive and curiousity shines out of her eyes, you get drawn into her emotions very easily. Edmund(Skandar Keynes)is a brilliant little actor he can be petulant and jealous betray his siblings and you still don't hate him because he allows you to accept and sympathize with the character. The weak link of the kids is Susan (Anna Popplewell), not any fault of the actress but Susan really doesn't have as developed a character as the others she is the mother to all of them and plays it well. Given more she could have definatly handeled it. Which brings me to Peter (William Moseley), that kid(ha hes older then me.:P ) has a future ahead of him, he was fucking brilliant,. he commanded the screen and WAS peter, he could make you understand everything Peter was feeling jsut by looking at his eyes. He handled the characters fairly rapid development like a pro and it never felt unrealistic or fake. Honestly one of the best performances from any actor that I have seen.

The fight scene with all the various animals was definatly a highlight. One scene in particular right before the beginning of the battle when it goes silent for a minute was . . . wow, it was perfect.

Over all Narnia was an amazing 2 hour spectacle full of heart, that captures the inner and outer turmoils of the pevensie family while still being an engrossing epic of a movie. Definatly a movie that is destined to become a classic, which unfortunatly will be labelled he christian Lord of the Rings Knock off, when it is truly so much more.

Serenity Avatars

well I don't know if you can tell, but I LOVE Serenity. Such an awesome movie. Joss Whedon is supremely talented! so here are some avatars I've made for my own use. I'm not very good at making avatars so don't judge.

Christmas

So its officially over. Christmas is gone for another year, but we still have New Years to look forward to... and no school for 2 weeks!

My christmas was excellent. I Love christmas I really do, as akward and uncomfortable as the family get togethers can be, Christmas is my favourite holiday. I love the feeling of peace and love ( I know ...how cliched) It makes me feel all giddy inside and happy to be alive. It sucks the christmas spirit couldn't be permanent, maybe people wouldnt feel so violent and angry all the time.

That said, I did get some kick ass presents. I know thats not what christmas is about, but everyone who celebrates Christmas has to admit, getting stuff for free from people who love you is pretty damn awesome. Some of the highlights, a gorgeous dragonfly necklace from my parents, Quidam(CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!!!) and Serenity( great MOVIE PERIOD! MORE PEOPLE SHOULD SEE IT!) from my brothers, and Lamb(awesome awesome book by a hilarious and smart Christopher Moore). I also got several other just as awesome presents. I really should stop babbaling, but I'm just in such a good mood and I don't want this day to end...it was a really really good day, good couple of days.

Christmas Eve EVE

Merry Christmas Eve Eve :D

Wow christmas has completly snuck up on me this year. The last few weeks of school I've been so busy doing homework and assignments I haven't really been paying attention to anything else. And suddenly tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Thank goodness I actaully did most of my christmas shopping early this year. Go me! :D

Tomorrow shall be a not so fun day. Well The day won't be bad because I'll probably just hang out at home and sleep and catch up on some reading. But tomorrow night I have to go to my Aunts house and several family members will be there. I love my family I really do, but I only see these people once a year usually so dinners are always very akward and uncomfortable. Everyone ignores it because thats what you do on the holidays but it always puts me ina weird blah mood for the rest of the night. Maybe I'm just to much of an introvert to enjoy any social gathering, because I usally would rather chose to be with a) a small group of friends a.k.a denise and kyle or b) be alone completly.

Now that the christmas break is here, I can catch up on my sleep and study for exams and freak out about university applications. fun stuff
